In our brand audit for the Paris 2024 Olympics, we delved into the elegant fusion of Parisian culture with the spirit of athleticism that defines this global event. The emblem, inspired by the iconic Marianne from “Liberty Leading the People,” symbolizes French freedom and resilience, making it much more than just a logo. We also explored the unique pictograms, or ‘blazons,’ which serve as modern badges of honor for each sport, drawing from the delicate symbols of a coat of arms. The Art Deco influences, reminiscent of the 1924 Paris Olympics, are evident in the sharp lines and geometric shapes used in the graphic design, all within a sophisticated color palette inspired by Parisian fashion. As the Olympic torch lights up Paris and prepares for its journey to Los Angeles, the audit highlighted the seamless transition from Paris’ elegance to LA’s promise of diversity and creativity for the 2028 Olympics, showcasing a celebration of global unity and the power of sport.
